Letters, ca. 1803-1823.

Seven letters to his friend the painter Francesco Giangiacomo in Rome (ca. 1806-1810) from Genoa and Naples. Letters include extensive discussion of the curriculum at the royal academy in Naples, the management of his private collection of Old Master paintings (including a list of fifty of these works), engravings after Raphael and their own works in progress. Also included are comments on artistic events and personalities of the day including references to Canova, Vincenzo Pacetti, Lodovico Venuti, Vincenzo Camuccini and Gaspare Landi. With a letter (1823) to Girolamo Sciaccia recommending Guerin to his full privileges in the Accademia di San Luca.
